Probably one of the most unusual pieces on this sight is this 9 ½" tall vase. The primary feature is its design, which features three independently constructed vases, each slightly smaller than the next, all three being oval in design, each almost coming to a point on their ends. Each piece is placed and fired at 180 degree angles to each other. One is inside of the next, in a stacked design. I have never seen this approach used before.
The colors are solid turquoise, becoming slightly lighter at the top edges. It has a matte finish with a very slight sheen to it. The piece sits on a perfectly round bottom making it very stable and difficult to tip over.
The piece is almost architectural in nature and is an unusual sculpture at its best. It holds water and therefore can be used as a functional vase. However, it can stand on its own and frankly looks best that way so that one can fully appreciate its eccentric design.
The photographs do it excellent justice. This piece is so eccentric it demands attention wherever it is placed. There is a fresh and unusual appearance to it, and it would hold its own in any environment or placement. It is truly a piece for a gallery or museum.
