This extremely substantial, weighty pot is over 9" tall. It measures 7" in diameter with a mouth that is slightly over 4" across. The piece is massive and heavy in appearance, and makes a strong statement to the onlooker.

The colors are a matte brown, with an extremely dark charcoal semi-gloss glaze pouring from the top, randomly covering about one half  of the piece. It is wheel thrown, but is then altered into a somewhat square shape. There are definite fronts and sides. The piece is topped by a strong looking rim that adds to its weight.

The most significant feature of the work, which can be clearly studied in the photos, is an abstract ‘burst’ of radiating contrasting colors, different for the body of the piece. It radiates in a very conservative, almost semi-circular fashion. The colors are light brown to white.  It is very much a painting on the pot’s front.

This would be an excellent addition to any collection because of its abstract nature and abstract design on the front. It can hold water and therefore could be used as a vase, although it was not designed to be for utilitarian purposes, but as an individual studio art piece. This is a very original concept and design.
